This is the last week of being George Kastanza. My aluminum paneled palace is nearly ready.

I've learned a few things in the two years I have lived with my parents.

-I am much more like them than I thought. I can go from silly to scholarly like my dad and tend to be reclusive. I can be short tempered and dogmatic like my mom, but spontaneous and the life of the party.

-I've had a good life. I have a loving family and real friends. I have traveled without being handcuffed to a military base and have met interesting do-ers. I've had better than average luck with girls, given that I have no kids or allimony payements.

-I have permission from the Engineer to fail from time to time.

-I am finally OK with being an outsider and just love the view from out here.

-I'ts ok to keep quiet if you don't have anything to add to the conversation. It better to ask informed questions than ignorant statements.

-It really pays off to exercise and lay off the beer.

As humiliating the last two years have been, I have come out of it much more confident and wiser. The desert has become a forest.
