I found out today that my magazine were the ones that got the scoop on a band named CLAWS. Apparently, the UK number one publication for extreme metal music have only just managed to get an interview and review, we've had one for weeks. Take that mass media publications! Haha no but seriously, of course I'm thrilled that they guys in CLAWS would allow us the grace of being one of the very first publications to work with them, especially as we're still so small - but what is even better is that they're obviously good enough to be recognised by the larger outlets who can give them so much more exposure than we ever could.
I don't believe there is such a thing as selling out. No one goes into the music industry to remain poor and unknown, the idea is to have as many people as possible hear the music you play and yes, what comes with that is a certain income and reputation, what's wrong with that? It only becomes an issue for me when you all of a sudden think you're better than the fans, too good to sign an autograph or say a few words to a publication who, collectively were the ones who put you where you are now. That doesn't make you a sell out, it makes you a dickhead.
