Well, the move looks like it's going to be postponed for a while. My grandmother got constipated and strained herself on the toilet till she got the mother of all nosebleeds. Mal and I spent all day in the hospital watching her spit sneeze and puke blood all over everywhere.
She's home now though, resting comfortably.

Still rattling around on the almost-finished book about 2004 world movies, and the new one about 1970s movies. Put up the Christmas creche so the tree won't feel lonely. Hung out with Mal. Finally got over this nasty cold I've been fighting and getting ready to start the long, arduous task of packing for our impending move.

Didn't do anything useful today except work on my new book, edit my old book, and play on the boards. Going with Mal to a big party tonight for a friend leaving the area and will probably not be home until God knows when.

Just got back from seeing "Moolaade" and "Sideways"... both were terrific in different ways.

"Moolaade" shows that it takes a director as old as Ousmane Sembene to look at a situation, fairly examine the motivations of everyone involved, and then admit he's still confused (not about FGM, heh, but about the larger issues he deals with there: globalization, progress vs. tradition, etc.) I love that...

First journal entry, just cuz I am sick of seeing "Raider 17 has no journal entries"... Mal & I are going to go see "Moolaade" and "Sideways" tonight. More later.
