It snowed all morning. Then it stopped. Sidewalks got shoveled. Now it's snowing again. Well, it let us get some closets cleaned out. This 'getting the house ready for sale' stuff is going a lot slower than I was hoping for.

The fact that the streets were not plowed (again) means that we couldn't go visit my grandmother in the nursing home today since the...

Boring day, spent doing more packing. It feels like 10 below zero outside. I'm seriously considering a new pair of gloves.
rude_ruca:
Huh, seems like new gloves may only be the begining for the nasty weather we are about to expirience....maryland is SUCH a schizophrenic state....but never the less, wool gloves should do the trick wink

INTERVIEW WITH THE LIBERAL MEDIA

I kept hearing about the liberal media, so I thought I'd sit down and ask it a few questions. It ushered me into its spacious New York apartment and offered me some truffles and a delicious glass of wine, which I enjoyed for its saucy (but not pretentious) flirtiness, its gracious nose, and a slight hint of nutty Edam cheese....

Okay, first the tsunami, then the mudslides, now an avalanche and a possible dam-bursting. The Onion was correct: life is imitating a bad Jerry Bruckheimer movie.
duone:
Haha ha. That's pretty sweet. It seems that way as of late

Hoo, boy. If there's anyone up there, He's taking a giant dump on the world. The tsunami and mudslides? That's what happens when He flushes.

But seriously, folks, if you want to hear something really sad, and then do something about it, go visit fractal's journal. A really good man she knew died in the recent mudslide. Read the story, and try to give...

Welcome back. I owe you a response on the death penalty issue--I'll get to it. As for le/la difference, hey, I'm a grammar nerd and couldn't resist. wink

Okay, back after a lengthy hiatus. Grandmother's going into the nursing home on Monday, which really stinks, but we're having such a rough time going without sleep and keeping a 24-hour fall-watch on her that it's either that or my wife and I both land in the hospital with exhaustion or some horrid stress-related condition.

She's going downhill very quickly, having gone from cane to...

People are very strange. I don't know why there are certain people who are so difficult to get along with that others don't even care when they die. I would think they would eventually feel lonely and soften in order to get company at least. I just don't get it.

Thanks for that little breakdown of woman and fighting, that was really interesting. I am fascinated by violence, especially consensual violence like fights and BDSM. Crazy stuff.

Well, I'm outta here. Between work and packing and all that, I just don't have time to keep up. Best wishes to all the SG's and the members who have traded postings with me. See ya 'round. kiss blush smile

Well, it looks like Granny is out of the woods, so now we're gonna get back to some kind of normal routine. I had been awake for three straight days by 11 am yesterday, but I finally got to crash while Mal watched her, and did it feel gooood! I got 9 hours, although I probably could have slept five more. Everything went smoothly all...

Well, things are a lot better today. We managed to get some fluids in her, she slept a lot, and no more bleeding. I never thought I'd reach a point where my Christmas-week good news was "Grandma isn't puking blood", but there you are. frown
malloryknoxx:
Of course I'll marry you love

Uhh.....can we do it twice?

Stayed up all night watching Grandma after yesterday's hospital horror-show. She passed the night very well, and appears to be out of the woods, at least as far as barfing blood everywhere is concerned.

Mal was a great help yesterday, and I don't know if either Grandma or I would have made it through without her. love

Well, the move looks like it's going to be postponed for a while. My grandmother got constipated and strained herself on the toilet till she got the mother of all nosebleeds. Mal and I spent all day in the hospital watching her spit sneeze and puke blood all over everywhere. puke puke puke puke puke puke
She's home now though, resting comfortably.
fenris23:
Oh god thats scary
scary and disgusting
eeek puke

Still rattling around on the almost-finished book about 2004 world movies, and the new one about 1970s movies. Put up the Christmas creche so the tree won't feel lonely. Hung out with Mal. Finally got over this nasty cold I've been fighting smile and getting ready to start the long, arduous task of packing for our impending move.

I am going to tentatively say that I like you. Despite the foetus jokes.
