I feel like ick. I had to work 2-10:30 last night and then 6:45 to 3:15 today. I am not a morning person on the best of mornings and this was definitely not the best of mornings. I woke up, stepped out of bed, directly onto my poor kitty. She made a horrendous kitty noise and ducked under the bed. I coaxed her out and made sure she was okay, but she was giving me her I hate you look. By the time I fed her, she was following me around so I knew she was alright--I was afraid she'd be limping, since I am quite sure I stepped on her paw, but she seemed totally fine.
I go to put in my contacts and my left eye is majorly swollen. I was about ready to wear my glasses when I managed to get it in and it felt fine so I went with it. By 7:00 tonight, it felt like there was something in my eye, up under the eyelid. Still swollen. I took out the contacts, washe dmy face and eyes really well and went to sleep for a couple of hours. I woke up to an itchy, still swollen, dryish eye that was definitely not comfortable, All I had was Bennadryl and eye drops for contacts, so I used both and rinsed it with warm water and put this aloe gel stuff around my eye, but not too close to it. That was about an hour ago and it feels less itchy and less like there is something in my eye, but still swollen and the skin feels very dry. My actual eye isn't red, doesn't hurt, I can see fine and I am not sensitive to light, so I don't know what the deal is. Most eye infections that I looked up online involve either redness of the whites or light sensitivity or bluriness, Hopefully, it just got irritated by my makeup or all the dust at work and will be okay in day or two. I really don't wanna go to the eye dr and get chewed out for wearing old contacts. Of course, I will be wearing the glassses until it gets better. And if it isn't improved by Monday, off to the dr for me. I don't want to mess around with my vision. I hope I will able to wear contacts again soon.
Work last night and today was all about the Harry Potter. I was kind of amused at the chaos caused by a children's book release. There were 350 people in line at midnight last night from what I hear. When I left at 3:15 today, we still had several copies in stock. Amazingly. I haven't read any of the books so I am out of the loop on all the excitement.
I went to a friends bbq/party after work. I'm not sure when I became the only sober one at most social events, but I must say I don't enjoy it. However, I was dead tired and I always have to drive home (living outside of town). Next month, if all goes according to plan, I'll be back in town again and maybe able to do more things with my friends and co-workers. As well as be closer to the gym (it'll be within easy walking distance).
That's all for now. I'm still tired and mentally like huh, what. Wish me quick healing.

well, you'll never know unless you bring another one home! if you decide to try and get a little friend for her, let me know and i can give you some tips on how to introduce them best. then there will be less fighting and a shorter adjustment period. i got really lucky with this new little girl, cuz none of the older guys seem to mind her. they just want to smell her a little bit.

Hope your eye is better. Of course, I think glasses are generally pretty cute ... swollen eyes perhaps not so much.
