Oooh, here's a tip for the kitty cat and the carrier:
Tip the carrier up so the doorway is pointing up... then "scruff" her neck and lift her up in the air. This will make most cats get very still. Hold her rear feet together with your free hand and lower her into the carrier. Then... drop her in there and slam the door shut! It may not seem very lovey-dovey but it is a quick and effective method (usually)!
Good luck with the moving!

I'm glad you are getting a whole long weekend off ... that is awesome! I love days off, so much so, that I often compose my resignation letter while lying around my house (if only in my head).
I sorta wish my kids said that sort of thing about me (they love me but don't fit) ... sadly, we all seem to have the same quirks and sicknesses. It's funny, because I think my older sons which we DIDN'T have so much to talk about. Takes the fun out of it when you cannot shock your mom!
