Goong Hay Fat Choy!
Calendar starting to fill up. There's a sociology conference in Boston coming up...an aikido seminar I'll probably go to, also in March. Also, I got some work with Thirteen/WNET for next week which keeps the wolf from the door another week or so.
More Chinatown research for sociology grad work. I got a bunch of video and stills of two weekends of New Year's celebrations in NYC. I was looking for a lion dance group to follow & talk to. There's a bit of difficulty getting in touch with them because there's a history of violence and tension between gangs which used to be affiliated with gangs. It turned out one of the core members of the one I managed to contact was friends with my (half-) sister from school! So I got good access. A lot of material that would take time to write about and no one here cares about anyway
I was just going to put up a pic here but somehow it didn't get sync
But it's been an auspicious new year's for me so far. Anyone else here do any celebrating?

Secondly, I'm primarily a fruititarian, soooo.. 90% of the day is spent eating pieces of fruit. apples, oranges, grapes, papayas, cantaloupes, bananas, kiwis, tomatoes, pineapples. Next in line would be veggies and leafy greens.. and then a small amount of fats like avocados, or coconuts. I would say that once or twice a day I might make a dish combining fruits and veggies to resemble a cooked dish. Last night was an amazing stew (uncooked of course, but I can warm it up to about 115 degrees.. so its warm at least). At this very moment I'm just about to start my 5th apple for the morning.
