Today, was in a rigging class - ha.
The head carp remembered my name - but not many of the other students. That always makes me laugh - but I'm pretty loud (dressing and speaking), so it's inevitable sometimes.
Made the mistake of wearing a dress - but thankfully, I was not made to climb any ladders. Even worse is the underwear threat - I hate wearing it, if I can help it. Thank goodness for stairs!!
Have been busy at school, doing sound op. for a staged reading/show this weekend. Was at the sound bunker till 11pm - and tomorrow will be later. There's no Stage Manager, so guess who's picking up the slack?...
The poor director is stressed out, so I don't mind helping.
The problem I have with stage managing is my inclination towards being a designer - and I hate having to squelch ideas (even if they make more work). Consequently am sewing 5 pairs of men's sock garters Friday afternoon for the evening's rehearsal/ cue to cue.
THe script has still been in revision (and will, until Friday's cue to cue). Can you say gong show? Not if I have anything to do with it... Speaking of which, it's called the Turing Tape (about Alan Turing, espionage and gay sex farce) and is on this weekend at the Cornerstage at the Fine Arts Building at the U of A. End of advert.
Still, there's no business like show business.
I was in on Sunday to record voice overs at 9.30 am - after a night out that was too late and too fun. Making new *ahem* friends left, right and centre...
Hey, here's a question :Why is it that if you give your number to 2 boys (1 you liked, the other you didn't mean to give your number to - no reallY!) - the one you DON'T want to phone will do so immediately? And incessantly?
No matter. I'm never at home to take calls anyhow.
Happy week, kiddies!
I will leave you with some Ethel Merman, for obvious inspirational reasons...

But at least you were sober and not on the verge of vomitting all day. Holy hell... that was no fun.
