Tonight I was meant to meet up with Tear_Garden. Sadly, plans went awry. Boourns.
I was just about to settle into watching more movies at home like the slob I've been...

When I decided to phone my friend Geoff; he's my dancing partner/fellow drama geek from highschool. Tonight, we sang along to musical soundtracks at his place, then went to see Phantom of the Opera - the movie. That's right, I paid to watch the thing. And I did enjoy it; mostly because of the music I remembered listening to as a kid. And the spectacle.
It was interesting to see the "adaptation" of Maria Bjornson's designs... Not nearly as spectacular or layered as her designs - more like a watered down version. I will admit to having the Phantom tug at my heartstrings...

More Eurotrash than Lon Chaney
- but I'm all for tormented artists, especially macabre ones... Dr. Phibes, anyone?

Now all I have to do is dig out my old cassette and listen to Prima Donna until I tire of trilling along.

Tomorrow, I close the good old video store again. Seems I never can escape the place... I think tomorrow is a good day to watch Hedwig.... But isn't every day?

Of course, getting a lot of work done today means I should get off of SG... If you see me commenting any more today, kick my e-ass! blackeyed

Edit: OK, I'm pretty sure I'll be there now...

I think I'll stick with the original Phantom of the Opera myself.
The songs are fun to play though. I used to always get a kick ass organ sound and play the theme whenever my old band had a sound check and when the singer told me to shut up....I'd play it even more biggrin
I may have to cancel going to the movie with you on Sat night frown . See my journal for the reason.
