despair (1934), great
the real life of sebastian knight (1941), great
bend sinister (1947), greater
lolita (1955), greater

and am currently reading
look at the harlequins! (1974), most likely greater

i think it's time for a career shift from zookeeper to professor of literature. the tiger ate up her sixteenth little girl today. i'm getting really sick of cleaning up all the blood in her cage. i never saw such a slovenly tiger! leaves bits of skull strewn all over the place. maybe i can sell her to a fur trader and use the cash to publish my dissertation on nabokov. after all, animal prints are in this season.
