Howdy Ya'll!!!
So when I said real soon I didn't think it'd be two months later! Oops >.> I just finished transferring my latest photos to the computer, 560 photos of fun! Next next weekend I'll start sorting them out. My wife is having a beach day with her girls and I'll be relaxing at home drinking milk from the carton >= D So pictures will be coming. I think I'll let my next blog just be all pictures.
Work continues to be busy and crazy but we have managed to escape a few times. We spent our first 4th of July properly back home in good old Vancouver WA! We stayed with my college roommate and his wife and my brother and his wife also came up so we had an epic time together running around the hometown, Portland, the surrounding area, and playing cards against humanity! It was so good to be back home for a bit and see family, even though most of my family has since moved. I caught up with several old friends too. Never enough time = (. We also took a two day trip down along the Oregon coast, with the all important stop at the Tillamook cheese factory, to see the huge CA Redwoods!!! Avenue of Giants was awesome, we are so going back and camping for days!!! And then drove back up I-5 to hang out a bit longer.
Time traveling wasn't too awful this go around, it was a little crazy though cause the sun wasn't setting til almost 9 pm. It was also strangely dry, still very green, but not the green green it should be and it didn't rain once while we where there. Sunny and in the 90's, lol that never happens! It was kinda awesome though. My wife really really really enjoyed all the great food. We went out most of the trip and hit some of the best spots Montage, Mothers, Paper Tiger, Main Event (peanut butter bacon burger!), Ice Cream Renaissance, and Voodoo Doughnuts! That was fun.
Coming home we've just been chilling, we've become couch bugs with our new pullout bed/couch from IKEA. It was just weekends, but we've kinda just stayed there since returning. We've also gotten up to season 5 in Supernatural, I've seen up to season 9ish I think before I lost track so it's been great rewatching. Other than that it's been tons of Heroes of the Storm for me! I like the free to play aspect and haven't spent anything on it yet, I spend enough on Diablo/Starcraft/Warcraft so I'm good. My bro has been playing too so that's even better and I occasionally catch some of my other friends.
Other than that life has been great. I got to go to a summer festival at Iruma Air Base (nearby JASDF base) with the wife this week and enjoy some fireworks and hangout with some of our Japanese counterparts. That was really awesome and I even got to try out some of the Japanese I've been learning. The wife and I are visiting her family in Nagano this weekend so I've been learning some Japanese basics using Pimsleur that I picked up at Powell's bookstore back home. It's pretty great, I do a 30 minute lesson before bed every night, all listen and repeat. Just passed lesson 6 = )
I hope ya'll are doing well, I'll be catching up on blogs/sets, and reading messages soon!
