Alright ya'll, got lots of pictures to share today! I had a kick ass weekend, I hope ya'll did too. Starting things off on friday my whole shift showed up for mine and my two amigos going away barbeque. Usually we do beef on a leaf, but with the three of us EVERYONE came out so rather than pile in 5-6 cabs and raid a restaurant we decided to stay on base and start things at 3! To make things easy, I stuffed my life into bags beforehand. So this is what my professional and personal life looks like in bags. I'll stuff my duffel in the empty space left by all the gifts I'm bringing home. It's also housing my camera in obsessively safety padded security.
Mandatory speech! I'm going to miss my kick ass shift.
It's funny how much bigger you look when you're not lurking in the last row lol
The rock that I had a sudden urge to pick up while walking to our hooch. It didn't get very far before one of my leg muscles said no, most brilliant idea I've had in ages before traveling and needing to walk most everywhere lol.
After saying goodbye to my last base I went up to Seoul to kick it with a friend from my last deployment in 2011. She works up in the DMZ and dragged me out completely against my will to hang with her and all her girlfriends for dinner, well maybe not completely. We started out at an awesome beef on a leaf spot with seven of us altogether. Probably the first time I've left one of those places full, we went through like 8 meat platters, which was perfect cause I was starving lol. Then four of us went bar hopping in Hyundai and sang karaoke after I was good and drunk, so we were out a good long while and just squeezed in before curfew. Sunday we went to the fish market and had fresh fish (half sashimi and half baked), shrimp, and octopus! The octopus was still moving and I took a video but I need to convert it before it can go up, so I'll save that for another day. It was very epic though, nothing has kicked my ego so hard than trying to pick up fresh octopus with metal chopsticks. The arms kept suctioning onto the dish on top of being slick and squishy. I eventually got it (with a spoon) but holy SHIT it was practically mission impossible lol = )
My friend is in the middle with the two wonderful Korean gals that work at the USO on base up in Seoul.
Karaoke shenanigans! I wasn't born yesterday, if my shirts coming up so is yours, score! lol = )
Korean War Memorial Museum and Seoul Tower behind me. It was a wonderfully beautiful and clear day in Seoul. Next stop Dallas!
Almost forgot, in my second vlog I told ya about the night I got makgeolli'ed so here are the photos from that day that started as an innocent fishing trip! Enjoy = )
