Right on, that's interesting that you've practiced before. I like how oriental artforms are all about following a certain ideal form, yet still value the character of the artist who produced the work. I'm hoping to get back into the workshop and make some metal works based upon the suiseke images I've found online. I've always thought it would be rather pleasant (if not always terribly exciting) to live in an Ozu film. At any rate the temperament appeals to me - I appreciate the way Ozu shows that feelings can run deep without being bombastic.
