Thank you all for your comments on my hopefuls set (If you missed it, go here)
I just finished cataloging my CDs again, 800some total (not including mp3s), but all I can see is what we're missing! I'll just say I'm quite enthused to have such an excellent public library at my disposal.
Had the pleasure of meeting some PDX folks at Oddiophile's welcome get-together.
Saw the mountain go ka-blooey, and the cloud of ash incidentally drifted exactly where my set was shot. Wherever we go, disaster soon follows! Parisian subway: 2 weeks later, some guy with ricin was found there... China: A month later, SARS. Houston: Huge flood and storms. The Grocery store we frequented: Collapsed under snow a week after we moved from the area. Crossed a bridge (the only one out of town) on the coast during a huge storm and while we were having a picnic just on the other side, a semi truck blew over in the wind on the bridge. Less impressive but no less miraculous, on our way driving to Las Vegas to get married, our route was completely impassable shortly after we drove it because of the worst snow in years. And this one is specific to Jason-- who had just jumped off a train (literally, he used to hop trains) before it derailed 20 feet away.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
Spending lots of time playing cello... I've surpassed where I was a year ago, by quite a bit. It helps to be able to play 6+ hours a day Acquired a new bow. Jason has me playing Messaien's Louange a l'Eternite de Jesus from Quatuor pour la fin du temps for his album, which, by the way is coming along faster than we imagined.
Nothing much interesting to report.
