so i took some pictures of our place.

some li'l lettuces and cabbages
a blurry cardinal
the trellis we made yesterday
chickweed, mmm. most of the chickweed in the yard is so tiny you can't even eat it, but the stuff around the bales went crazy from the compost and urine that ran off. incidentally i'm reading a book about proto-farming (that is, the idea that people had been doing different aspects of agriculture long before the neolithic revolution, such as eliminating competing plants, mulching.. and that the neolithic revolution was not really so revolutionary)... and it occurred to me that just peeing on a plant would fall under that category, and in a hunter-gathering society that would actually make a significant difference in one's chance of surviving/thriving.
