The surgery went in my favor. As of now I have a peritoneal dialysis catheter, and it should be working in 2 - 3 weeks.
I also have horrible pain around my mid section from being sliced open and a tube stuck in there. It's not the worst pain ever, but it's keeping me in bed for a few more days.
The pain is only slightly important, though. The important bit is that I'm free from hemo-dialysis for the time being. I can grit my teeth for a few days while this heals up, and I'll be gritting them through a smile while I think about not having to deal with needles anymore.
