Just got back from a job interview out in Downers Grove. Pretty cool place, actually really huge. I had to interview with three different doctors, which meant three separate interviews, which was a HUGE pain in the ass. By the end of the third interview i was so fucking thirsty. Plus the third guy was CRAZY. He kept calling himself "the man in charge" and...

so your interview went good? good luck smile

how are you holding up on the "bush front?" ... i'm sort of over it ... i'm to "well. let's see what the fuck happens now..." and getting on with my life.

Black velvet dress? Now that's fuckin' hott!

Glad you agree with me and I'm sorry you've lost your job. It's a tough fuckin' world out there. American jobs are bein' sent overseas for cheaper labor. I'd like to see those companies get taxed like crazy for moving jobs out of this country. They should get some sort of kick to the balls. Hope you find some work soon. One of those 3 you have lined up better call or else dammit.

As for the war, I tried to be for it. I tried to stand behind Bush as much as I could. But when his reasons for goin' to war change as much as I change my underwear...I don't trust him. Not that I ever really did, I was hopin' for once I'd be proven wrong. Politicians are scumbags, the whole fuckin' lot of them and it's always workin' class kids like you and me who get the shit end of the stick.

I am doin' better though. Nice that you asked. wink

Hope you are doin' good as well.

It is time to apply for my first job as a veterinarian. Scary shit.

I've got about 10 places to interview at all over the country. Most exciting= Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Warmest= Louisiana State University. Most prestigious= Cornell University.

Ugh. I don't want to be a grownup.

the notion of looking for a job someday freaks me out. it's not just the idea that there are not MANY academic jobs ... just the whole idea of being in charge of my own fate - finally - is both wonderfully exhilirating and totally frightening. wink

Fuckin' A.

I have to go to a wedding tomorrow. If there's anything I despise, it's weddings. And to make it worse, I don't even know the people who's wedding it is. I'm just a date. I'm sure it will be fun, blah blah blah, but I'd rather ride my bike or walk my dogs. Ok enough complaining.

Ate at the Great Impasta tonight. SOOOOO...

have fun at the wedding .... going to strange people's weddings is a bit odd: the whole not knowing anyone always trips me up a bit. i figure at least it's an excuse to get dressed up (i like dressing up. go figure).
ojaeflo:
Hope you had fun! smile

Me and the girlfriend went to one last Sunday and marveled ove the menagerie of taste-challenged and freakish people that were there from the groom's side (we were guests of the bride).
puke

It was fucking hilarious. I never felt so gorgeous in my life.

Went to Allerton Park today... totally beautiful paths through the woods with some pretty fuckin' eerie statues and sculptures in random clearings here and there. There was even a cemetery from the 1800s. Everyone buried there was younger than 30. Kinda creepy.

Anyway, here's a pic from the stroll through the woods. Way behind me is a really beautiful sculpture called Death of the Last...

i have one of those parks, i more or less live there in the summer, squirrel-watch, read. i think it helps if you live in the city, to have some place green to go to. keeps you sane. my park's way outside teh city too, so you don't even hear traffic there. it's lovely.

great pictures by the way

hope your week's going well

Just went and saw that Team America movie.... pretty hilarious. The movie doesn't have actors, just puppets. It managed to rip on everything from the musical Rent to David Hasselhoff to the search for weapons of mass destruction. I definitely recommend seeing it, there is even a puppet sex scene that is pretty graphic and also pretty fucking hilarious.

I got a new down vest...

Eeh. I totally hate the rotation I'm on right now. It's at the local humane society, so I spay/neuter all day and then help euthanize a ton of animals at the end of the day. Frankly it is very sad and boring.

So to counter the boringness, I made burritos for dinner. Always fun! Always a tummyache! But soooo worth it.

Anyway, I really feel...

taffy apple - rock on. a couple of weeks ago, we got 'gourmet' taffy apples. it was dipped in chocolate, and covered with chocolate chips. it was tasty - but i prefer the classic caramel/peanuts dip. smile

Home from school sick today. Us college types don't get the day off. Spent Saturday night in the hospital. I was so sick my boyfriend had to carry me in. When will I feel normal again?! Agh!

Since I mentioned being home from school today, I'd like to send a shout out to our good friend Christopher Columbus. I'm sure we are all aware that...

Ahhh, I guess you watched the debate tonight.

I agree, he's a dick.

i've been saying that since 1988!

for the good of the country, we gotta get rid of the man. i say that because us anti-w people are more emotional than anti-kerry people.

i for one couldn't handle the stress, and neither can the people who have to deal with us! can you imagine four more years of nucular and how annoyed that gets you? you think we're bitching and moaning now, you just wait! surreal

Totally digging these new features. Nice job SG.

So yesterday I started my two week externship at the local humane society. I spend all day spaying and neutering and giving vaccines and doing exams. Not the most fun thing in the world, but I'm learning.

My kidneys hurt again today. My doctor took xrays a week ago Friday and he hasn't called me about them...

Heading out to study for boards with my man. I'm so sick that my eyeballs might bleed. I'm tired of being sick! Perhaps I need to take my vitamins.

Got Punchie back from the shop. He looks awesome- you'd never know he was in an accident. Hoorah for Punchie's homecoming!

Can't type anymore-- time for studying. Hope all is well in SG land.

So how was the weekend, yo?

Mine was excellent... a friend from Chicago drove down from Chicago and we went to see Mason Jennings on Friday night. Totally awesome. Mason Jennings is such a rockstar... I have the hugest crush on him. Sigh.

Yesterday I had emergency room duty from 3pm to 10pm. Pretty boring night... just one horse with a cut on his leg....

hey there. how ya doing? how is school down there? so, as a full blown vet student type, do you get all into the football stuff that goes on down there? i sort of missed going to such a rinky dink state school - we never really had the big football culture that comes with fall ya know? i don't even LIKE football...but it looks so *fun* when you see the crazed fans on tv, and folks i know who went to U of I talk about game days like it was really a good time for all... true?

What's up muthafuckas.

Today was my last day doing horse stuff at school. Tomorrow morning I have to get there at 6 to do exams on all my patients and then I run the hell away from there to a different rotation. I'm so happy to leave that behind me.

I start ambulatory tomorrow, which pretty much means I drive around to farms and help...
