The Room, or why I like watching bad movies:
I don't know if you what "The Room" is (IMDB page). In short, it is a movie about a guy named Johnny ( played by Tommy Wiseau, who also directed, wrote and produced this), living together with his fiancee. His fiancee gets bored him of starts cheating on him with his best friend behind his back.
Frankly speaking, this movie is downright horrible. Acting, locations, music etc etc fails all across the board. But why do I like it ? Simply because it is bad. It is bad in the same vein as those b-movies you saw when you were a kid( at least I did). Though I'm pretty sure that it had a bigger budget than those movies.
Watch the movie a couple of times ( something which could be excruciating if you're not in the right frame of mind), and you can pretty much what he was trying to do and where he failed. Now the enjoyment doesn't come from the Schadenfreude some might feel. It comes from the fact that it is actually funny. Some of the lines are just completely over the top. Some storylines and actors(!) are introduced and dropped without a hint, and it goes without saying that the sex scenes are hilariously bad, even for Hollywood standards.
This is why I enjoy bad movies, if you don't take them seriously, there's a lot of fun to be had when watching them, especially with some friends. You can either laugh at the shortcomings or see what they were trying to go for and either laugh at that or celebrate it.
Here's the trailer and some scenes from the movie just in case you were interested:
