Okay, weird...my girl had a similar story today. As she was getting off the bus she noticed a scarf half in and half our of the bus. It wasn't like a winter scarf, but a nice red crushed velvet one. So, she picks it up. The lady in front of her was wearing red so she assumed that it was hers. The lady said it wasn't. So there my girl stands holding the red scarf and nobody else wants anything to do with it.
"Damn it!" she grumbles. "Now I'm responsible for it..."she thinks.
Anyway, she puts it in her bag and runs a few errands before heading home. Once home, she calls the CTA...they don't handle lost and found, the garages do.
"Well, where's the garage for the 146?" she asks.
They tell her but also informed her that she could give it to any driver on the route or a supervisor (one of those people you see on the corner with a clipboard from time to time.)
So, does she give it to the driver or the supervisor the next morning? What's the supervisor going to do with it?
So she decides to place it in a plastic bag, all compact and handy like with a note saying that it was found on the northbound 146 bus at such and such a time.
Now this is why I love her. She goes back out to the bus stop then and there, waits twenty minutes for a bus she's not even going to take...just to hand over the lost scarf to the driver.
She figured if it was a gift from a friend or her mother....she would want it back.
I should note that the bus driver, a female, looked at her like she was crazy and was like, ".......okaaay."
People just don't want to take responsibility for each other I guess. It's not like a huge commitment...it's just human kindness.
[This just in: I added a sketch of this to my human kindness pics.]

I've read your testimonial: I sense the feeling of it, but don't quite grasp the whole. It's beautiful. Thank you
