well, now that my crazy week is over, i can recount my fun filled wednesday night that was my philly/mraz adventure.
to tell the truth, i wasn't sure if i'd have the guts to do it. i was actually shaking before i left the house. i was so nervous.
i mapquested directions, swung by the atm, filled up my tank, and was on my way. i found the electric factory easy enough. i parked a couple of blocks over (free is always good, shady area or not). luck of all lucks, as i was crossing the street to the venue, a scalper asked me if i needed a ticket. so, i paid $75(plus $5 cause i didn't have change) for a ticket that was originally $27.50, and stood in line. it was 5:30pm. the doors didn't open til 7:45pm. but hey, i was WAY ahead in the line. i met a cool group of kids. michelle, cole and zach were all from PA. we chatted and i made friends. we spent the rest of the night together.
the concert was awesome. there were no seats, but if there were, we would've been in the 3rd/4th row. there were two opening acts. carbonleaf was first. i didn't know what to expect from them, so i was pleasantly surprised. i really enjoyed them. i am now a carbonleaf convert. second was raul midon, a blind singer/songwriter. he was amazing. he sang and played the guitar, but he also made horns sounds with his lips and beat on his guitar for acoustic. he has an amazing voice. i bought both their cd's after the concert.
jason of course was amazing. i greatly enjoyed him, without a doubt. i took quite a few pics, which r now in my mraz concert folder in my pics if u wanna check them out.
after the concert, i got the artists' autograghs, and me n the boys went for grub. michelle had to leave us, tho. *tear* the boys took me to get a really philly cheese steak. afterwards, i took them home, but they did get my e-mail n i got zach's number. poor poor stupid kid. if he had any clue, he would've realized i was kinda liking him, but he blew it. que sera.
a long drive home while the heavens poured down on me got me back at 3am. all-in-all, it was an awesome adventure and an amazing day.
sidenote: i almost got my camera taken away from me. i use a small video camera as my digital camera. it's one of the options. i didn't take any video (being that it's illegal and all), but sure enough in the middle of jason's fourth song i got a tap on the shoulder and two security guys were there asking me questions. it ended up they took my batteries (and not the entire camera thankfully). in the end, they did me a favor. i actually focused on the show instead of taking pics. besides, by the time they approached me, i had already taken about 75 pics. i think that was more than enough

roadtrips are so much fun! glad it was uneventful. def good to hear you didn't lose your camera. i sneak in recording gear all the time, but i'm usu tryin to be sly about it. nonetheless i would totally cry if somebody took my stuff. be careful, travelling to shows can become quite an addiction.
