This was supposed to have been updated last night. I got an earfull about neglecting my duties as a SG member with my journal (not really but I was asked when I was going to update again). I had ever intention of logging on to the computer last night to do so after getting off the phone with my lovely wife (oh yeah and as of today the Navy finally recognizes the fact that we are married but thats another story for later) As I was logging on to the computer I got a phone call from my chief about our CO seeing some reports that were supposedly all F'ed up and that I had to fix them RIGHT FUCKING NOW! This guy must be a memeber of the brain trust, I'm at home and I don't have DOD access from a home terminal (won't ever happen) so I can't even look at the website to even see what is wrong. This guy then says that if I can't fix it from home I should go in to work (my ass its a Sunday night) or send him an item by item outline of what happened (I can't even access it to see) and what I am doing to fix it right now and that I had better be prepared for an ass chewing first thing Monday morning from the CO. Oooh I'm scared, I don't take threats very well, especially when I could (well not anymore as of this afternoon) walk away from the Navy in May. He also wanted me to draft an outline as to what I was going to tell our CO when he called so that he could read it and make changes to what ever it is that I was going to say to the CO. Fat chance, I mean the guy may out rank me but he's not exactly yellow or orange when it comes to the crayola box. So rather then updating last night I came up with a tornado of bullshit spewing blame everywhere and accepting responsability for nothing and pointing out non-exsisting solutions to problems I am assuming people have precieved where there are none.
So I get to work this morning and guess what.... The dumb asses can't read plain english or properly access the website to pull reports. Big fat super chicken!! BOCK-ACK!!! Nothing was wrong, everything was the way it was supposed to be and all is well in the land of stupid people. Well till I get a phone call from the CO, thankfully the guy actually knows when to listen to people and is not in an ass chewing mood (as my chief so plainly misinformed me) I gather a little information from our CO and figure out what the beef really is. I guess since I did an upload on Friday at the end of the day (normal proceedure) it doesn't get proccessed till Monday morning east coast time (again totally normal). For some reason someone decided to pull the info from the website on Saturday or Sunday when the information was sitting in one spot all lumed into one catagory with no information unencrypted and put where it needed to be. I guess if someone tries to pull the info before this process takes place they get a big fat lump of crap. Oh well screw it, I'm outa here in a little over a month.
So.... Other news, well I was able to fanagle my way around some ignorant bastard at our personel office and talk to someone that actually knows how things really work (yes the junior sailor wins again ). Now the Navy recognizes the fact that I am married (the other guy wanted 3 forms of her ID including a birth certificate) with nothing more than our marage certificate. I got my ID renewed and it now shows my proper rank and I extended my tour with the Navy rather then re-enlisting. After I go to school I qualify for a bonus when I renelist so it makes little sense to do it now, and I'd rather extend for a year just in case things take a turn for the worse. I also found out that the Navy is not only going to come pack me and move my crap but its going to pay for the gas for me to drive down from here as well as my wifes from Canada and a good portion of the food and lodging that it would require based on 350 miles a day. So we will have a little nest egg for all the small things that we may not have between the two of us (can you say new washer and drier).
The last few weeks I have been really busy with work and I've been just about killing myself getting ready for Field Medicine Service School with the Marines. I wanna make sure that this "old man" will not only keep up with the kids but kick their asses. I'm finding that recovery from this takes a little more every year I grow older but I don't give a shit, I'll still kick their asses. Rrrrr!

fellonearth:
So you extended your enlistment, what exactly does that mean? How long before your current enlistment is up? How's that any different from re-enlisting? Oh, right bonus. I just hope they don't find some bullshit way to swipe any bonuses out from under you. Its happened to many a sailor/soldier/airman/marine... Sorry about the pessimism, you know what you're doing. Just keep giving 'em hell.

I thought I would check in to see if you updated but how silly of me to even think that
