It's Monday, not that it should be unlike any other Monday, but this was the Monday after I drove all the way down to Camp Pendleton and back the day before. I had to drop one of my more favorite providers off so that he could get in some predeployment training before going off to the sandbox. That's the one thing I really don't like about my job sometimes, it seems like just as soon as there are a few key good people that work well together start to figure out how to get the job done with the most minimal amount of BS or red tape someone gets either deployed or transfered. On the plus side my drive down goes right by my mom's house so I was able to stop by for a brief visit before jumping back on the freeway and driving all the way back home. I got to see the puppies again, and the one that I liked now has a new home so he wasn't there Not that I don't still like the ones that are left. My brother FellOnEarth finally picked out a name for the pup he's keeping. I found this out when I got bum rushed going out the kitchen door to the back yard and I saw this shiney little engraved dog bone hanging from his collar. It wasn't what I had expected to see engraved there, but it makes sense. The puppy is named after my biggest buddy when I was growing up, an Alasken Malamute (that once got in to it with the University of Washington's mascot ). The visit was worth it, and even though I had a 3 hour drive back up I stayed till after 10 that night.
I've also started making my plans to head up to the great white north once again in September. I wish that we could say that the visit was purely for pleasure and leisure, but we can't whitewidow and I just have way too much to accomplish in way too short an amount of time for our up coming wedding. This is unfortunate I'm sure that after what's been going on with some of the work related stressors we could both use some R & R time. Kind of sad when you think that both of us just took a nice vacation back in June and we already need time away from work again, but then again all you have to do is turn on the news to see why anyone in the military is a bit jumpy.
So back to Monday... well let's just say that Murphy rules, and there is no escape from his law. Nothing major, just a ton of little stuff that added up to a pain in the buttocks I broke my glasses not once but twice, and just a few minutes ago I did it a third time. The lenses are still good but the screw that holds the frames together keeps backing out. I think it's stripped, and I'm just about ready to get some permabond or JB Weld to hold the scew in place since lock-tight isn't doing the job (granted its not the super strong stuff). Our computer guy had special liberty (the day off) and of course our server goes ape shit, and half of the terminals go tits up. I can see that the other corpsmen that work out in the filed here with the Sea Bee's and EOD guys have figure out my resupply schedule and turn up like clockwork to see what Santa has broght them from the evil Grinch down in 29 Palms. At least it makes me feel pretty good when I have enough of everything that they need and stuff that they want that I can hook them up, so my day wasn't a total loss.

Make sure to take lots of small moments in September with WhiteWidow to just sit back, relax, and take in the moments. Remember these moments cause you're getting married to an amazing person, and you really want to remember this as fun.
I'm really surprised they keep sending you to 29. I guess I'd just assumed they had someone compitent down there. Silly me.
