This weekend I have discovered a few things. At 11am the sun creeps into my little garden, it stays there until around 3pm when it ducks behind our house. By that point the walls of our garden have absorbed so much heat the garden stays warm well into the evening. Yesterday was a good day.
I have also discovered that one of my cats, Hobbes, must have been Egyptian in a former life. He is such a sun worshipper, on more than one occasion I went to stroke him and I could hardly touch him as his fur was so hot. Needless to say I picked him up and put him in the shade on more than one occasion, and shoved a bowl of water under his nose. Mim, on the other hand, does not like the heat. She spent most of the day indoors catching and eating the flies that were buzzing around, or catching Zzzzz's in the corner of the living room.
I baked 2 cakes to, both vegan and very yummy. Its a mixture I've adapted from a recipe I was given. People think cooking vegan food is difficult and won't taste right, but of all the cakes I've cooked (and I've cook a lot!) this cake is one of the easiest, most versatile, and stays moist for around a week. It's now a spiced cake, lots of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg, with a few other bits. I made one plain, and one with Banana's in.
I'm planning a BBQ for Bank Holiday weekend, I hope the weather is this good! What do you guys have planned??
xx

I'm not canceling Sunday, but I may not make it to yours until about 5. I have drums and then at 2 it's my goddaughter's birthday party thing. I only have to stay there a couple of hours, and I'm hoping if I get there early I'll be given some brownie points and can leave a bit earlier. I only saw them today which is when i was reminded it was her birthday, but I figure I can squeeze everything in.
Bank holiday weekend I'm wrestling on a show on the Saturday, going to a wrestling show to support a friend on the Sunday and alas no rest for the wicked I'm working on the Monday. Booo! Fail!
