Feeling pretty fuckin groovy and I dont know why.
Nor do I care to find out, Im just rockin in the free world. (did I mention I am a ball of cheese when Im feeling pretty fuckin groovy?)
Anyways, just runnin with it, letting it just be some foreign sensation I used to remember. It may be happy, but Im not sure.
freakchefs birthday was last night, and I was able to drag my groggy heart thumpin ass down to Doolins before everybody had left. More people than had made it apparent in the SGBC group showed up than I was expecting, and that was totally cool. I am finding myself to be discovering a sensation of friendship with people who were thus far strangers to me. Im givin back with all Ive got too, in case you wanted to know.
We started at Doolins, and 5lave was blasting us with his incredibly bright flash bulb of the most amazing digital camera I have ever layed my eyes and hands on (his pics are going to totally blow mine off the wall and I am suppressing my envy). I only got a couple of shots off on my camera, but I really like this one, I think mostly because it really shows how much we all seem to have so much to say when we get together:
Course, the evening progressed in the direction it seems to be drawn to progress when its somebodys birthday, and our whittled down group ended up at the penthouse.
The pics, of course, stop there. I am not in the mood to be beaten to a pulp in a back alley somewhere by some guy named Antonio, so the camera remained in my zipped pocket for the next 2 hours.
What a great time though. And not because there were naked women. It was just fun hanging out with everybody. Thanks freakchef Please have a birthday more often!
Oh yeah, and who knows, perhaps we found a new member? (comon.. JOIN already!)
I ended the night drinking coke, and I stopped off and cried at the dark locked doors of Fritz fries on the way home.
School nights are the worst for attempted debauchery. But thanks you guys, I yet again had a blast.
Anyways on the bus today.
I was trying to come up with a new word. Help me out here.
Innocent Intimacy.
Intimate innocence.
Something that would be a single combination of those two words is the word I was trying to make up, but all I came up with was Intimence, which sounds more like something involved with digestion sometime after mastication and swallowing the bolus.
Not so sexy, but the flavour of the feeling behind the thought is -- so the word has to be. Suggestions?
Anyways, on a completely unrelated topic, I was working out in West Van again today. I am really starting to love that house. Im not going to post any pics of the inside of the place, as much as I wish I could, but check out their back yard view:
You cant really tell from that pic, but they are right on the ocean and even when its completely overcast and generally shitty out down town, its completely beautiful seeing that gloom from their view.
I wonder if they will ever wake up one day and not notice how beautiful it is. Probably.
Anyways, I had a good day onsite. Started to wrap up a lot of the final little touches on their whole system, threw some pretty cool little tweaks into the code (with, of course, some hidden little easter egg button press combinations into their touchpanels which they will never find. Bwoooo haaaa haaaah haaa!! I love doing that.) and the wife was ecstatic with the new additions. Shes my age, (a month off) and we get along pretty well which is a nice change from some of the other gated estates I find myself immersed in.
I finally finished off the stuff I was working on, and hit the road. Driving out of west van, approaching the lions gate bridge some Lindsey lohan song was playing and I cranked it. Whats up with her?
Why do I keep hearing about Lindsey Lohan?
Anyways, I finally made if off the bridge,
Drove into the down town core through Stanley park,
Speeding, obviously. (oops)
And I finally made it back to work, to drop off the van.
It was after the bus ride back down town where things got kinda crazy:
Ive been totally missing an old tape I used to have. This Mortal Coil: Itll end in tears:
I cant find the CD anywhere. I tried Virgin, A&B sound, and the odd second hand music shop every now and then. Nothing. Man I want this album back:
So there I am down town, feeling fuckin groovy and waitin for a bus. I suddenly hear some Leonard Cohen voice waves pumping into the back of my head.
I dont even turn around. I just get some strange feeling.
This Mortal Coil my head says and I turn around and see a second hand CD shop.
Man I cant even explain how strange it was to walk right up to that one area of the shop, and find this CD.
I am such a happy token.boy.

I'm glad you're feeling groovy, my boy. I like the photodocumentary journal style. It flows. Hey, there's no snow there! You bastards!
I think I owned that TMC at one point. That reminds me of my favourite Cocteau Twins album, Treasure. *sighs remembering*
