Going to try something different today---a little free association.

There is a song out, by the 5, 6, 7, 8's, used both in Kill Bill and the current Vonage commercials. I googled for the song a couple weeks ago. And I now present to you, for your enlightenment, the lyrics to Woo Hoo. It's a good thing someone took the time to write those out for us, eh?
Speaking of Kill Bill, I think one of the sexiest women in the movie is Lucy Liu. Maybe it's because I have a thing for hot, intelligent Asian women (she majored in Asian languages---the only language I know besides English is a little Vietnamese). Maybe it's because I have a thing for hot Asian women in leather. Or possibly because I have a thing for incredibly hot Asian women who are simultaneously completely vulnerable, and yet so incredibly full of power. Beautiful.
Nature is also a thing of beauty, as is chaos. And hence, the study of Fractals. Er, Fractals. Or, if you use creative spellings, phraktyls, except that I am much more chaotic, and much less beautiful. Spend a few minutes looking around that site (there are, by the way, a plethora of fractal images out there, but I chose this one from a google search only because it was by Spanky).
Another thing I find interesting, along the spelling vein, is Scrabble. I love it. I haven't played in a tournament yet, but I play with friends whenever I can. My highest score, against my girlfriend at the time, is 585 (581 + 4 points from her leftover tiles). In that one game, I got two bingos, the 'X' two ways on a triple letter, and most of the other high point letters, both blanks and three of the four 'S's. My highest turn was for 96 points. She was pissed.
I'll save the entire story of my ex-girlfriend for another post. But in short, we were doing great, she moved in, and we were choosing a wedding date. And then without saying anything was wrong, we went back to being just friends, and then she moved back to her hometown a very short time later. The only communication I had with her after that was a two-line e-mail, a week after she moved, saying she was fine. I didn't write back. Two things really irked me about the whole situation. The first was that something was obviously wrong, and she didn't feel like letting me know about it. The second is that, after all we'd been through, she didn't let me know she had arrived safely that night, or even the next day. It was a full week later, the the only thing I got was two lines amounting to, "I'm fine." WTF is that?! Getting that e-mail from her pissed me off more than not getting anything from her.
And with that, I have another speech due in my communication class tomorrow night. This is the last week of the term, followed by a week off, and then I start my next set of classes.
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo Hoo!
