Burning one's ships is definitely a good way to lighten one's load of worries. I'm looking forward to this next year. There's a lot to plan for and a lot to do before I get there, but the wheels are in motion...
On the more mundane side of news, I have to go to Wilmington to help friends (married couple) move. 'Tis a double dose of bad news: not only will they now be more than 3 hours away from me... I'm the only friend who is still committed to come help move. That means two able-bodied guys and a houseful of furniture.
I have a feeling that I'll whip out the wallet and call some pros to take care of business while my buddy and I get too drunk to drive the truck on the same day.
Favorite movie of the summer so far! I am a sucker for Old School/Dodgeball type fare, though.
All that aside, I've been spending the last few weekends going down to Charleston and enjoying some fine dining and wine drinking to make up for the less-than-stellar KBR entrees I was forced to endure in the earlier part of the year.
I recommend Ansen's and the Oak Steakhouse for some fine high-caliber dinners; Blossom for lunch; and Coast for some delicious sushi or more mainstream seafood.

Embassy job in Europe eh? Sounds pretty damn rad if you ask me. I'd love to live there and if not teaching, then i would also consider international relations...i love traveling and experiencing other cultures so it may be a good fit, but working in an office would totally suck. I hope that plan works out for ya. Lord knows you deserve something like that happening for you after all the shit you've been through with the military defending our Nation (and thanks for that btw in case i never said it although i'm pretty sure i have.)
