Well, I got excited for a few minutes today, as an individual from a neighboring unit that deals in similar matters as mine came to say that sometime next week we would be frozen from moving on to new assignments. My anticipation at going to Iraq to back my teammates up was high, to say the least, as was the pucker factor.
That rumor was squelched only a few minutes later...
As distressed as I was before in not being able to help my buddies out in some concrete way, things are even worse now. It's best to not know hope than have it taken from you sometimes--I think.
Oh well... back to packing.
