Well, let's see what happened lately:
On the bright side, I found out I'll be gone all next week on a training trip near Panama City, FL. Not bad, considering I'll be collecting about $100-120 a day for per-diem. Making money while getting out of office work is always good. Apparently I'll be "validating" (testing? ) our Group's scary new obstacle course (for competitions, etc.), testing out some new toys, and drinking my ass off. Not bad.
On the duller side, when I'm not scamming tax money from y'all, work is getting more dull with each passing month. Probably because I know I only have, oh, 13 months and 5 days before I start my second stint at higher education. I like the idea of getting a 2nd Bachelor's... but I'm starting to wonder about how it's going to be being 29 and back in school.
In fact, I'm kind of freaked out about being 29 next year period.
My interim ride is working much better than expected, which is good. No grown man should have to bum rides from his co-worker for an extended period of time. Even if those people try to apprehend dangerous terrorists with you.
I think I'll try to go to Greece again for X-Mas. Missing the family already, and it's only been 4 months.
I'm currently going through Robert Fagles' translation of the Iliad, which I'm happy to report I love. I'm also reading "Sailing the Wine Dark Sea" and a nice little book on the Spartans. What can I say? I'm going through an ancient Greek kick.
Yes, even in video games.
Finally, I've come to the realization that I've been WAY too much of a hermit since getting back from Korea. I mean, one of my best friends and his wife are setting me up with a blind date. I figured I was just taking it easy, but apparently they and a bunch of other friends think the version of me that returned from abroad is more "Twilight Zone Phoebus", and not so much "Carpe Diem with your six pack of Guinness and bottle of champagne" Phoebus.
I'm just trying to save money for my phat ride, people!
