Well, I've been meaning to update my journal for sometime now, but I was hoping to have other than work stuff to post.
Unfortunately, I still can't find a USB cable for my digital camera, so most of the pictures I wanted to upload here remain inaccessible to me.
So let's see. What's new?
I was in Savannah for a couple of days during a training trip, but unfortunately all our work was going on in the evening/night hours. Thus, no fun. Also, note to self: staying in $50 a night hotels off the interstate sucks.
I did go down to Charleston, SC, with a buddy of mine and partook in some good times. It does hurt to be hanging out so close to my old college and seeing everyone having such a good time. I recommend The Majestic Grill for some of the best breakfast I've ever had and Moe's Crosstown Tavern if you're into a traditional tavern to cure hangovers by imbibing hair of the dog that bit you while enjoying a Football game or two (and some pretty fucking good food if you're not a vegan/vegeterian).
In a bizarre twist for a guy in my line of work, I'll be sailing with the aircraft carrier USS George Washington for a couple of days next week.
An Air Force guy working and training with Navy Pilots? This is begging for trouble.
I was issued a new Cassandra today, and I promptly tested her out in a training shoot today. I'm pleased to report that she delivers the bad news very admirably.
No grenade launcher, but I did wheel and deal for a couple of extra nifty scopes and a nicer pistol grip for my assisting hand.
Finally, I have to set myself up for another round of X-rays and MRIs. The good news? Until they can confirm something, I get to go back to jumping out of planes, running, swimming, biking, etc. The way I figure it, I'm taking a 2-3 year break next December. It can heal then.
What do you think about the elections?
