This was officially the crappiest Thanksgiving I've ever had.
I expected very little going into it, as I was supposed to be sharing a meal with my ex and her boyfriend. Being the jackasses that they are, of course things reached lows that I didn't expect. They were supposed to show up and help cook at around 11, but didn't show up until almost 4. Of course, by this time the grocery stores were closed, so they contributed nothing to the meal and I was forced to create a full thanksgiving spread for 4 people out of what I had in the fridge (baked salmon, garlic and herb chicken, macaroni, corn and pumpkin pie). Did they offer to contribute anything in the way of funds? No, of course not...
On a happy note, my friend Misty is visiting from Mississippi and we're supposed to hit the town today, do some record shopping, have dinner, whatever strikes our fancy. Shall be damn fine to see a familiar face.
What did everyone eat yesterday?

That sounds like a hell of a lot of fun while it lasted
That's a good part of why I wish I'd lived in the 70s too. I can only hope that's where we're headed again soon... the whole unquestioning acceptance of the standard life-patterns (church, school, more school, marriage, babies, houses, dogs, etc.) leaves me rather limp.
The new vertical thing pretty well drives me nuts
