Take 2...

This was originally a response to a friends blog on MySpace (totally, like, old school yo!) that kept growing and eventually evolved into a blog of it's own. Enjoy.

Apparently, you had the exact same experience working for Sears that I did working as a bouncer in a night club. Somehow, that's not surprising.

And about Christmas, I know exactly what you mean....

Cut! Check the gate! That's a wrap! biggrin

Thanks for re-posting this fantastic entry. Christmas takes on so many shapes throughout our lives and it's always kind of comforting to hear other people's experiences with it. In a way, Christmas wouldn't really BE christmas unless it underwent some sort of evolutionary process with each of us.

Cheers, Eric. Hope your Christmas is grand! smile

If you like picture blogs, check out my entry from the 16th. Don't even ask how I found that one on google. blush

The week before Thanksgiving I went up to San Fran to see Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Actually saw them twice, the Wednesday night show and the Friday night show.

Let me just say, holy crap. They were two of the most incredible shows I have ever seen. I spent most of the night with either my jaw dropped, or just laughing out of control...

A quickie before I go teach.

I am currently in an argument on Facebook with some folks who are pushing some new weight loss miracle drug/supplement/placebo thing.

My point is you don't need the drug, you just need the lifestyle change that goes along with said drug. Why would I put something strange into my body, while denying it of the food it needs?

Their...

I swear I was ready to go. I could have left early. But no.

Everything is packed, I have everything I need, even several things I don't need, being an obsessive compulsive overpacker.

Then I made the decision that I needed road music. So, I'm now sitting here, an hour and a half later, burning my 7th and final CD. 7. SEVEN. Did I mention...

Holy crap. I saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones last night.

Long story short: 12 Days of Christmas. In 12 keys. AND 12 time signatures.

I'm seriously contemplating going again Friday night.

Oh, and Victor Wooten is fucking incredible.

That is all.

It's up to around 50 degrees outside right now. Overcast, grey, generally rather gloomy. But I've been craving a bike ride, so since I have nothing today until 3:00, I may just have to go out and brave the cold.

Maybe I'll wait another hour....

It's not over yet.

Not by a long shot. This is just a hurdle. There will be many propped up in front of both sides. This was a big one for us. And, quite frankly, it beat us. But don't worry, it's not over. It will take a while, but all I can say is that I hope in my lifetime I will be able...

Very well said. I applaud you for your ability to be well spoken and articulate enough to see through the crap storm laid out before the general public in an effort to sway public opinion. Well done.

How I'm not sick from conducting in the pouring ass rain for an hour I just don't know.

Yeah, great timing all around. The show wasn't canceled, but it was moved from the field to inside the gym, out of the rain. It wasn't bad for a while, but, of course, AS SOON as the band got their uniforms on and got in lines to...

So here I sit, sipping tea, listening to Neil Young, and watching the rain.

I wonder how many blog-post-what-have-yous I have written in my life that started like that.

Damn, now I lost my train of thought. Oh well. Just hope it gets better so my students can perform. I hate rain outs, I just want to see them succeed.

Damn natural grass marching band...
