There is nothing like being surrounded by thousands of people, whether it be in foreign countries, far away cities, or crowded shopping malls, all of which you'll never share a connection with, or even see again for that matter, to remind you how relatively insignificant you are.
Edward Scissorhands is a great one, but it's a tearjerker. At least for me.
I remember seeing it in the theater with my brother while my parents were Christmas shopping. I think it was the first movie that I ever cried at.
