Hello all. There are numerous reasons for my extended absence from all things SG. Primarily I still don't have an stable internet connection at home, and now UNCA has changed the hours on the computer lab I usually sneak into. So that prevents me from getting on line very much. Usually when I do I only have the time or ability to check my Email, and maybe Myspace. Blah. Theater wise I have a bit of downtime for a few weeks. My "summer" season ended a week ago. Over the course of the summer I directed one play, Romeo and Juliet, acted in Three others: (five depending on how you count them) Cyrano de Bergerac, Much Ado About Nothing, and Henry VI parts 1, 2 and 3. I also designed lights for two others, and pretty much volunteered anywhere else I could. I haven't even had the time to leave Asheville since April.
Another major reason I haven't been around has to with my dad. Back at the end of August my dad, who is 70, took a bad fall off our front porch. He broke two ribs and punctured a lung. If that wasn't enough, sometime around that same period the doctors suspect he had a minor stroke. My mom was unable to care for him at home so we had to put him in a rehabilitation home. His recovery has been real slow. he is still not able to walk by himself, and he seems to be showing signs of senility. We're not sure if this is caused by the medicines, the environment, or psychological factors. While my dad is recovering, I have to stay with my Mom who doesn't like to be left alone for long periods of time. All this has left me with little oppourtunity to visit my out of town SG friends. I'm bummed I missed the Halloween party. Hopefully all this will change soon, and I'll be back to the debauchery.
Later for now.

Well, we do miss you and hope we get a chance to see you soon. Man, you've had a busy time of it. And I'm sorry to hear about your dad. This year hasn't gone very well for him. I think he should get a refund...he deserves it. I hope this is only a temporary setback for him and things will sharpen into focus soon. Our thoughts are with you.
