It is now officially my birthday and I am completely ambivalent about it. though, since the last few months have kind of sucked, so I'm looking forward to closing the book on 27.

Was up in my old stomping grounds of San Francisco last weekend. Damn I miss that town.

I need school to start again soon. I've just been sitting around driving myself crazy...

AHHH!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Yes. Pabst. The first beer to be canned. Whee.

And yeah, I went home and though the guy I sold my own ticket to was so incredibly happy to have them... I wish I stayed. It was a rough night.

Firstly, apologies for being AWOL the past couple months. And thanks for not deleting me from your friends lists; I promise to be making the journal rounds shortly.

Secondly, I need to get out more. I'm quickly losing any social skill that I might have had. Went to a party at Tom Bergins last night, and couldn't bring myself to say a word to anyone...

south bay? don't know anything about the south bay. i live in east hollywood though, and i too want to know why there's a "scene" everywhere. but on my side of town, i'm growing fond of the bigfoot lodge. it feels like a place with a big sasquatch sign isn't allowed to have too much a scene. if you just want a regular bar, my neighborhood also sports The Stone, a thai bar with lots of stools available and a happy hour from 7-10pm.

oh and welcome back. i forgot to say.

Haven't updated in a while, but really...I've got nothing to say. Just came out of a couple weeks of hell, schoolwise. Going to be spending Thanksgiving alone for the first time, I'm actually quite looking forward to it. Me, a Greenblatt's Turkey dinner, bottle of wine, football and a couple of movies.

I think I might have permanently alienated my christian/republican crush by telling her...

So the Flaming Lips are the best live band I've ever seen. They played an hour set at All Tomorrow's Parties and that alone was worth the 90 bucks. As corny as this sounds, it was a life-affirming experience. I've pledged to go and see them anytime they are within 500 miles of me. Incredible.

I feel like I've joined a cult.

All Tomorrow's Parties this weekend in Long Beotch, anyone going? I'm hoping the new-found popularity of Modest Mouse doesn't turn this into a KROC weenie-fest type deal.

I think I'd sell my first born for a chance to hang out with Lou Reed.

nah, no big plans....i lead a dull, dull, dull life...hahaha....hope you have fun in long beach biggrin

Would you fuck a Republican?

I've been hanging out with this girl who seemed almost ideal...until I started finding out strange things about her. They range from weird (doesn't like chicken, and "never got into" the simpsons) to scary (church goer, republican).

What the fuck?

I'm certianly hoping to make myself into one. Right now I've only sold about 7 pieces. But I'm painting daily. I really do love it.

I dated a very religious feller who once told me that he could never love me as much as he loves god (fine with me) and that he couldn't continue with me if i wasn't christian or intending to convert... that was just too much for me.

But hey, you'll find that tension is sometimes what is so thrilling about the pair.

And you can stay in school...but you can't hide!! MUAHAHAHA. Right. I kind of want to go back to school now.

I realize that I will probably come off as Scroogish, and it's not my intention to offend, but...does anyone else HATE halloween?

And if you love it, convince me why I should spend even one night a year with drunk frat-boys in drag living out their homo-erotic fantasies and girls trying to out slut one another.

Thanks.

my halloween tradition is a friend's pumpkin-carving party. no costumes, no debauchery, just some geeking out trying to design cool jack-o-lanterns, and some bbq-ing.

much better, i think.

not much going on these days. i should be getting out and enjoying what passes for fall in LA, but I'm always consumed by guilt/panic whenever I go a whole day without studying.

anyone going to All Tomorrow's Parties in a couple weeks? Or to see Explosions in the Sky on Sat.?

Went to my friend's wedding last weekend. Very strange. His wife, who I've only met once before, got REALLY drunk and told me that I look like this guy she was in love with and that if he had returned her emails she wouldn't have married my friend. Okaaaaay. Uncomfortable.

Doesn't help that they already have a kid, and this was kind of a delayed...
