I've divested myself of that responsibility, and it feels pretty good - although, as is typical for me, I felt a bit melancholy about it at the time.
All in all, though, it was the right thing for me to do. It's time to move forward again, and I can't do that while I'm still sludging along and treading water in situations that suited the me of then, but not the me of now.
It's a small thing, overall, but one more step forward. And that's what I need to make. Small, continuous steps towards where, and who I want to be.
