Well, I suppose it's time that I update this little dealie-o. And though little has changed since the last blog, or at least in terms of work's dominance over my daily life this summer, it's good to make time to reflect and share n shit (...even though I really ought be sleeping, for tomorrow will be full and starting early)

eeegads, i'm just spewing out...

funny how our minds and bodies are so ready for summer before it begins and then ready for winter in the same way eh?
i do miss the rainy winters in the pacific northwest though, that wet weather is perfect for coffee shops and pubs and fires biggrin
i always loved the feeling of walking into a pub/coffee shop (not starbucks, the local cozy places) and feeling the rain slide off my head and dry as i drank and read a book. somehow that feeling just can't be replicated when it's warm out.
i hear there's a big derby tourney being planned out your way in feburary as well. perhaps if luck and time and cash provide the opportunity, i will finally get to experience eugene, ahhh a girl can dream...
i'm ready for winter, i love how everything just kind of slows down that time of year, and i do have a soft spot for warm sweaters and clothing in general smile
bettybruises:
haha yeah i actually feel the same way, work is work and derby is a second job that i love and i don't get paid for, since october/november is when things begin to wind down, i'm definitely looking forward to fall/winter and some serious time with my paintbrushes and sadly neglected paint tubes.

if i can find a way to afford the time off work and the plane ticket up there, you got yourself a deal wink i'd love to introduce you to derby and a pretty awesome local team if i do say so myself....

kiss Museful is an awesome word, I love neologisms!
bettybruises:
thank you biggrin
and yeah, not anti-relationship and the naked time is always a plus, i'm just so stretched think on time right now between work and derby and other stuff, i really really treasure the little time i have to just "be" whether it's painting, reading, listening to music, trying to not kill the herb garden i've started or the other plants i'm hoping to "rescue", or just kind of sitting and enjoying silence for a while. i guess i just feel somehow more centered within myself than i have in a long time, and with that, comes less of a need to rely on other people for any of that wink

It was just one of those nights ...a ripe blend of magic and debauchery.

Food, drink, friends and burlesque.

That smalll town pub grew up, packing the house on a wednesday and stoking a joyful ruckus.

So naturally when I got home I rebelled from my austerity and forked over the fee to regain entry to this divinely crass little world ...to rub virtual shoulders...

why is it that when I want to do nice things for my kids, they act like such deviant and unappreciative little shits?

On this shortest of days, in a valley of nearly perpetual winter clouds, the sun is shining and illuminating the room where I am presently hiding out to fester and fume. I really ought be out there, playing detective, grilling each suspect...

yep it's an older painting, but it's mine. i actually just downloaded a bunch of older work into my art folder finally, which reminds me i have 2-3 unfinished art babies that need to be finished smile i miss being in college and having hours to paint. i used to sneak in the studios around 9 or 10 at night knowing they locked the buildings at 11, and i would stay up painting for hours and then watch the sunrise.....hmmm those were the days.
as far as your "human puppies" it sounds like you're doing a pretty good job with them wink trying tho they may be.
