lookie at me, i'm a bloggin' fool
prop 8 got a much deserved lethal injection today and as much as I'm not a fan of capital punishment, I'm happy to see this piece of hateful shit die.
I worked again today on the painting project. I love being in the whit. The whit to eugene is kind of like oakland is to sanfran ...it's the gooey center of full cultural flavor that really really brings life to the city. It's home to the freaks, the anarchists, artists, gardeners and avant garde. It is there that things rise through the cracks in the sidewalk, transforming the cityscape.
I dig working on that old funky building ...even if just for trade and love. The work is more than just helping out a friend. I'm there for the neighborhood and the community. I like that people walk by and thank me for my labors ...strangers and friends. I'm there for the muralist whose amazing piece adjacent to my worksite inspires me to give her a new canvas and protect her other work from overspray. I'm there for those who came before me ...who 66 years ago gave that building life ...and to those who over the years kept it mostly intact. I do it for the trees that were cut and cut and cut ...to keep their wood intact ...away from the fate of rot and infestation and landfill ...may the land that once sustained them once again birth a magnificent new forest that can grow and evolve for eons.
tomorrow i finish prepping and start to prime ...no final coats just yet (my pal found out his paint will be 40% off the day of the big soire) ...so good enough for now and just in time for the block party ...the finish coats and trim will be done some other day next week ...but for now there will be more than enough transformation to wow the crowds
i just hope I can keep my boys entertained long enough on saturday to enjoy the shindig with my peeps
...sorry for no pix ..i really should get on that

all my dental work was out of pocket..I took out a loan to get it done because I HATED my smile AND my mouth hurt for years. I even took out one of my own teeth once because we couldn;t afford the Dentist..so years of neglect led me to alot of pain and ugliness so now I am fixing it all because I have a lot to smile about DAMMIT hahah

I had a good time in Eugene, but now I am trying to get to Havre, MT. Closest neighbor Alberta. Maybe one day I will get a job with the Ducks.
