Today, Em and I found a beautiful pit bull wandering around by herself. She looked well-taken care of, was fixed (she liked to have her tummy scratched so we could see), and very well behaved. She also had one blue eye and one hazel eye, which was pretty (We named her Bowie for the time in which we had her). She was very nice with other people (she liked people and wanted to be petted frequently), but she attacked Emerson's dog (who was fine, just startled). That seemed kind of sketchy and I didn't want to give her back to her owners if they made her fight other dogs or something. Other than that, she was very well behaved (Emerson forgave her, as Lilly was fine).
Apparently, people have seen her around (they could tell because of her eyes), but no one knew who she belonged to. No owner came looking for her AT ALL. We had her from 10-3, mostly staying in front of the house, but from time to time we walked to different houses knocking on doors. NO ONE CAME.
We had to call the SPCA, which I wasn't too happy about. I didn't want to keep her or anything (she was much to powerful for me to control), but I didn't want them to kill her because she was pit-bull, either. She was well behaved except for that one incident (she tried jumping up on me, but in a playful manner, the same way my dog normally does). She was a such a beautiful animal, I was scared for her. The people came and picked her up. I asked them if they were going to hurt her, they said no. I told them that she belonged to somebody in the area, but we didn't know who. They said they'd scan her for a chip and, if they found one, contact the owners, but, if not, they'd hold her for 4 days, then put her up for adoption. They didn't exactly say adoption, they said they'd hold her for 4 days. Fuck, I hope she gets put up after that, I really REALLY don't want Bowie to be euthanized. Fuck, now I'm scared.
I'm worried that they'll hurt her because she a pit-bull and CA has a pit-bull overpopulation problem right now. She was a good girl, just not with other dogs. She should be fine for a family, as long as there are no other dogs. Maybe, I'm just being naieve, but I still don't want an animal killed just because she got loose.
Anyway, that was my adventure for the day. Afterwards went to Emerson's and played Kingdom Hearts some more. We made it to Mulan land, Yay!
