I was working in the Paine Gallery (consider yourself forwarned if you don't appreciate irony) today at school on a Sam Durant show that will be opening on the 6th of next month - incidentally, it's going to be awesome if you'd like to go to the opening with me. Anyway, I was using a jigsaw to cut holes in a wall we've constructed over the past few weeks and like a moron, got some shit shot into my eye while not wearing eye protection. I spent about an hour trying to flush it out and it hurt bad enough that I couldn't open my eyes long enough to walk anywhere. So I went to my studio and fell asleep for another hour in the hopes that it would work it's way out; it didn't. Off to the hospital I went and promptly stayed for a solid four hours. Okay, the stories not that interesting and I'm getting tired of telling it. The highlight was when the doctor told me my cornea looked like an ice skating rink. Awesome.
I'm now watching as much as I can of the third season of The Kids in the Hall rather than reading about contemporary art - or hanging out with people since it's Saturday night. Again, awesome.
