Today has been a pretty good day, and should shape up to be a better evening.
This morning thru this afternoon, I started to get my work area cleaned up and now have myself a nice new shiny work computer desk with a longer table. I'll now have more area to procrastinate being creative and doing things I enjoy. At least the computer desk w/ chair is more ergonomic then my previous set up of lazy boy and folding table. I feel accomplished and have moved up in the world. My walls are bare tho. I think I need to get some of my pics printed up and try and keep me inspired to move towards doing more photography.
I did complete making up a mix yesterday but its a work in progress right now. I do like the selections but am having a devil of a time staying in a particular genre. I started up in Progressive house and then the last track, which mixed in so beautifully, is a break electro type beat. So either I lose the track or just switch gears mid mix. I am really debating hard on this one... here is the mix if you want to check it out Shortound Mix Let me know what you think about it. It is going to change here in a bit, once I get a few more tracks selected and figure out which direction I want to go.
It's raining right now and I absolutely love it. I <3 rain so much and I enjoy it even more when it just dumps buckets. I think thats because I live in Colorado and the weather is either dry or snow, so whenever we get these monsoon storms, it is such a treat. Like some people, I think there is something calming about a good thunderstorm. I enjoy listening to the rain hit the ground and of course the sound of thunder, provided its not too close. I really enjoy watching the storms roll over the mountains and then head east to the plains. Granted, I've been in the nasty storms too many times while out east, but when you are far away and the thunderheads are consistently illuminated, its downright beautiful.
I am super stoked about tonight. Sage Francis is playing at the Black Sheep and its been a minute since I've been to a show. I think the last one I caught was Atmosphere in Denver way back in 2008. Otherwise, it's been quite a while since I've seen an artist play live. I am really excited to see the show as I have been digging on Sage Francis' stuff for a while now, and it'll be good to finally see him in concert. Plus it should be a good time to be a Sage lookalike, what with me being bald and bearded. I may be able to score a groupie or two myself. Kidding. I am not that type of guy. Dont get me wrong, I dig women and all but I dont think I am the one night stand type. Maybe we'll find out tonight. Kidding, again. Maybe.
So thats whats been going on today. I am really hopeful for a great night out, seeing some friends and enjoying a nice show. After how crazy busy and awful work has been, it'll be nice to finally let off some steam and just relax. Here's to a wonderful night.
