dawn of the dickies..

i made it out to the khyber last night to catch a set from the dickies. it was another great summer show. the band are a lot tighter than they were at last year's 'fiends of rock' tour. they really cranked out a bunch of their best songs: 'you drive me ape', 'tricia toyota', 'my pop the cop', 'banana splits', 'doggy style', 'if stuart could talk', 'rosemary', 'give it back', and a ton of others. they did their infamous covers of 'paranoid', 'nights in white satin', and 'eve of destruction'. leonard was really entertaining the whole set, cracking jokes to the crowd. i got to chat with stan lee for a while before the show too, which was really cool. i've always thought the guy was one of the best punk guitarists.
