Women, I pose this question to you.
What exactly do you want to hear when you're feeling down in the dumps? Someone who consider one of my best friends (if not my absolute best) just had surgery last week, and now, I think due to her boyfriend being on tour and her not doing anything other than lay there, she's judging her body too harshly.
She's going on about how she never wants to see herself naked and such. The one amusing part was when she said she could be a never-nude. There is never a bad time for an Arrested Development reference.
I know there are a lot of things I could say, but what are the bounds for someone who is "only" a friend.
I'm fairly sure you guys are reading a certain subtext here. And yeah, you'd be right. But I don't want to talk about that.

Just shift focus away from such negative thoughts.
OR you could opt for the cognitive behavioral therapy option, and get her to challenge such negative thoughts.
