First there was the DC Writers Unite Panel, where a bunch of writers I admire talk about...well. Writing. Geoff Johns was there, as was Greg Rucka (who has now left DC, sad) Judd Winick, Gail Simone and James Robinson. Afterward I gave Geoff a by-then-half-melted Slurpee, because he loves Slurpees. He signed my variant Flash Rebirth (which was then signed by Ethan Van Sciver, SCORE)
Then I went to this Hollywood interview thing. TOTAL shit show. I'm actually embarrassed I even showed up. But oh well.
After that I scooted over to the spotlight on Gail Simone. That was a lot of fun, and she is so awesome. We exchanged information for a future interview and that had me stoked. She also graciously took a picture.
Post Gail Simone, I walked the floor, and tried to head into the Brightest Day Panel, but that was a bust because they were showing the Doctor Who Panel afterward and they said they weren't going to clear the panel. SO GUESS WHAT? Dr. Who fans went in there even though they had no interest. BOO.
So then I headed over to the Kick-Ass screening because a Booth Babe (who in all honesty kind of looked like a contestant of Rock of Love, but she's awesome anyway) was nice enough to give me a ticket. But unfortunately, I couldn't get in. Oh well.
After that I headed home.
Sunday was more for me as a fan. I had an in to the Chuck Press Event, but all of my camera people backed out last minute and it was already tough with just one camera guy, so I just took the time to try and get the new Blackest Night White Lantern Sinestro. And not only did I get it, I got it for FREE.
The guy behind me was working a booth, and I told him that if I won, I was just going to get one figure, because that's all I could afford. So he offered to buy it for me if he could get the other three. I....didn't turn him down. heh.
From there I went to the G4 signing because Blair Butler was doing a signing. I got to go the front of the line because I had a wristband and got this lovely pic:
She also signed an autograph and I gave her my card because she said she'd have given and interview if she weren't so busy. She is incredibly sweet.
I also completed and interview with some great guys from IDW promoting their book Kill Shakespeare. More on that when I have it uploaded. It was a fun interview.
I then mosied over and got a Suicide Girls Zombie poster signed (the stupid rain got to it on the way home, boo!) and headed to the Shakespeare Panel to see what else they were talking about. That was cool, if not a little dry. It was funny though because the English Professor from Stanford pretty much found it abhorrent. haha.
It ran a little long, but went to the Archaia News and Notes Panel and met the most random person. Does anyone watch True Blood? Well Michael McMillan, who played the Reverend Steve Newlin, and he also played Henry on the Amanda Bynes sitcom What I Like About You. It's a relief to know he's more like Henry (a true geek) as opposed to Steve (a bigoted dick) hahaha.
I also decided to get a pic taken with the Tru Blood Booth Babe, because...why not?
That was the end of it. I had so much fun and I had a blast meeting the girls. I didn't get to meet any other members that I'm aware of, but there's always something to look forward to next year right?
And with that, I leave you with a pick I took with Squeak on Saturday.
And finally, an extra I can't not include.
and for that last pic, I apologize.
