OK
After being run over by bikes in one dream, the next dream started in a casino kinda cyber punk city and narration of a sort. I had played all the games but I was about to come across one I would find the most challenging to my very life even (kinda reminds me of Assumption in "Last Call")
I was in the bathroom and this haggard looking girl is in there and then there was this guy and he was hawking a game, only 25 cents to get in and you have to put it in a gumball machine where you get a playing piece out. the girl, having gone through it already, warned me...but then she herself was unable to resist. We walked along with the guy and weird shit started happening, like I started to wade through this pool and these creatures suddenly were after me, and the girl asked our guide why and it was bcse of the specific gamepiece I had...
I ended up with a crew...frogboy and mousegirl (who were in love and it was mostly just their heads that were animal likr the Khepri in Perdido St Station) and an older guide guy who was cool, and it was very "Neverwhere" in some ways. I saw a friend of mine in subway station and she walked into a wall and disappeared, and I knew she was part of the Game too.
We had close calls, Mousegirl was faint and took too many pills, We were always running from something, or to somewhere.
Then Frogboy had sort of the pinnacle moment with the Master of the game. A confrontation that we could only watch from the outside, and keep his body safe (like the matrix?) But there were flashbacks where he explained the origin of the Game, That Stanislaw Grumman (which I got from the Golden Compass)was researching longevity and had elderly folks meditate on this scroll that he had found and in it he found the Game. Now either his study was called Millenialism, or the Game was called Millenia, I'm not sure. But then Frogboy said that the Master had forgotten one thing, that Grumman's Heart was in the game, and so it could never truly be the Master's Game and frogboy sort of conjured it up by calling it out and grabbed it. Which meant that we won.
I think I should stop reading so much Science Fiction. It's something about my bed and pillows too bcse I did not have dreams like these when I was out of town. Like there is some dream vortex living in my bed.
