This is one of those pics that I can't really stand the way I look, but otherwise it's cool and maybe if I could just imagine that it was someone else well enough I would see that it wasn't so bad,but I can't and I look so earnest and without pretense that it is actually a little frightening.
But I promised a pic that shows me playing my little accordion so here ya go.
PS. I am working out of town..well today I think we are just going to rest, tend to our illnesses and be crafty.
Oh yeah, and my friend and I were discussing the nature of art...Like what is the difference between art and craft? We went through many different permutations, but one question we had is why "craft" is now a dirty word. When my pal declared that she felt knitting a sweater is not Art, it's Craft, these women just about blew a gasket! She felt that calling it Art waters down the power of the word.
There's a lot more to the whole discussion but I think we need to reclaim the word "craft" from the endless images of macaroni mobiles and popsicle stick paper dolls. CRAFT is important! And skilled craftspeople and artisans of various and sundry mediums have the ability to make every object and process of our lives aesthetically satisfying. Too bad everything today is made cheaply exploitatively and without thought besides profit for someone who usually already has way more money than all the people working for them put together.
cheers!
