okay, so i haven't said much lately. it has been an interesting few weeks. along wtih working a hell of a lot of hours, i have a family crisis over the weekend.
after drinking with the hockey team friday, i wake up to a phone call from my dad saying to be prepared to come home becasue my grandfather is getting very ill. so i start laundry. then a second call comes, it sounds bad and i am instructed to make arrangements and then head home. do you know how hard it is to pack a suit, just incase. and then drive 5.5 hrs not knowing what might be happening at the other end? yeah, the day started out just great.
here is where it gets a little strange, but good. i arrive at the hospital about the same time as the rest of my family. i walk in the room to find my 2 grandmothers, my mom, and my 2 sisters crying. my grandfather is in and out of it. this is 630 in the evening. we sit and talk, and play, and laugh, and cry. but things improve. by 900 he is back to knowing what is going on, and wonders why we are all there. at 930 we order pizza and wait, 1000 comes, we are eating pizza and watching a basketball game. my grandfather, who 12 hours earlier was struggling to breath and recieved last rites, asks for a slice of pizza and a pepsi?! WTF. we all just shack our heads.
it was a draining day, first i was thinking of how i might srtart a memorial tattoo on my chest, and by the time the day is over, i am thinking i could use this trip to have animal add a little colour to my tattoo or start a new one.
anyways, hug a loved one today, you don't know when it is might be your last chance.
