Last night I did some volunteer work at this women's shelter in midtown. They need volunteers to hang out with the children while the mothers are in some sort of meeting. So from 6:30 to 8:00 last night I read stories to, talked to, and helped this little 5 year old girl named Caitlyn make art. The kids are really cool, although they do get pretty hyper after they have their milk and cookies.
I also met this really cool gal there too (one of the other volunteers). Guys, most of the volunteers to these projects are young, single women so...........
I'll probably do this project again. Where else can I do something good while at the same time meeting pretty single women?

wow, when i read the tiny bit of your journal on the hookups page i totally expected you to be a girl. i used to do that same kind of stuff at my local shelter when i was in high school. i even did all the training so that i could work the crisis line before the place shut down. but the whole thing was run entirely by women. i think the guys in my town were afraid to volunteer. you rock.
