Found an apartment! Signed that lease up, wrote out the checks, pissing and moaning over the prospect of getting shit into it. I hate moving. I want to hire a moving company, but lately I've become cheaper than lazier, which is an entirely new development for me. Of course, when you pay out 15% annual rent to your broker, you start re-evaluating certain expenses. This one stung a little, but it's worth it. I amortized the expense out over the life of the lease, and it cost less on a daily basis than commuting on the train. Of course, once you throw rent into it, the equation breaks down. But it's rent, that's what you do in New York. You pay rent.
