ok just a thought....the buddhist believe the most blessed level of samsara to incarnate into is ours/human. because in this realm we have the opprotunity to practice dharma. eventually there will be a "great enlightenment" so they say.

I don't have any of my Rumi with me at the moment, much to my chagrin. I should get my books back when I move next month though, so I'll have to let you know what my favorite is then. I don't have the ability to make that judgment, or even evaluate the statement critically. I'm terribly curious about what a service is like, but I don't have the benefit of knowing any practicing Buddhists. I wouldn't know how to approach the community around the local temple. I'm a private person and somewhat timid. I just want to find a comfortable place to think and listen to the wisdom while I find my way.
