So I did it. I went and petitioned for modification and possible increase on child support. I actually feel like I'm being a bitch because I don't need the extra money, but my kids deserve what's theirs. I also told him we could come up with an agreement our own or go to mediation to save us both on going to court. He informed me that he wasn't going to help me save any money and since I want to go to court then so be it. I sent him one last message today saying my requests...which are
1. We alternate the boys every other weekend.
2. I will accommodate to his drill weekend, either allowing him to switch weekends or make up with time during the week.
3. If he is going to cancel a weekend or wants to switch I require a week's notice, except for emergencies ie serious illness, death in the family, etc.
4. Alternate or split holidays. ie Halloween we would alternate, Christmas and Easter we split...we have always done it this way it won't be a problem.
5. He gets the boys 2 full weeks in the summer.
6. The parent notifies the other parent of any illnesses or milestones.
7. Schooling, sports and medical are to be determined by both parents and the costs split evenly.
That's what I offered him, and to be honest I don't know if he is going to accept it or not because he has yet to answer. But if we went to court that is what I would ask for, I'm not looking for sole custody (although if granted to me I wouldn't be upset by any means...)
Please if someone thinks I am being unreasonable or a bitch or whatever please let me know. He told me I only see things one sided and always feel my side is right, so open my eyes if you think they need to be.
